Student Scientific Club of Phytochemists

The Student Scientific Club of Phytochemists established at the Department of Plant Physiology in 2016 brings together students interested in phytochemistry, i.e. a scientific approach to herbs and herbal medicine.

Main goals and tasks of the Club

  • extension of the knowledge of the practical application of plant materials in cosmetics and medicine
  • investigations of biologically active substances in plants
  • creation of an academic cooperation platform for students interested in phytochemistry
  • popularisation of knowledge in the field of phytochemistry
  • promotion of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology and Maria Curie-Skłodowska University

The Club members regularly take part in popular science events organised periodically at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, e.g. Biologists’ Night and UMCS Open Doors.
